Safety Tip... Don't put the life jacket on until you're OUTSIDE the boat. If she floods while you're inside wearing it, your chances of escape are virtually zero.
It's the same with those lifejackets you're supposed to find under your seat on the plane. (Of course, these are largely useless because no jet aircraft in the history of commercial aviation has ever made a successful water landing, but that's a different issue.)
