We used to do something like that on one of he ferries across the Channel.
We had poker (slot) machines that only paid in tokens. And the only place you could "spend" the tokens was in the slot machines... until we replaced the machiens with new ones that still paid in tokens, but we "forgot" to tell the supplier to adjust the coin slot.
Nice. We have the new Pepsi machines with the credit card slot...and when you use them, there's a communication error, so they won't give you a drink...but they'll still charge you $1.25. Then it's five bucks to call the 800 number and have them correct it. I gotta get in on that gig. I wonder if they're hiring.
That's true. Nevertheless, they continue to give us tokens as a reward.
