obsession

McDonald's Iced Coffee. From an objective standpoint it's not that great. But I have to have it. I have to have it every day. Whoever the evil wizards are that McDonald's has in its employ, they've done their jobs.

Problem is, it's not available at every location. The only places I've found it are at the two by my work. Which is fine, but what about on weekends? I'm supposed to go clear out of my way just to get my fix?

So I called McDonalds HQ to complain that the Iced Coffee wasn't available at enough locations. They said it's up to the individual owners/operators to decide whether or not to carry it (prices and participation may vary and all that). They encouraged me to file a formal complaint, so I did. They also told me to try the caramel flavor.

  2. So, beside making my grandpa a few thousand cups of folgers crystals and the one cup of coffee that I drank in the 4th grade (a very rebellious year for me), I'll admit that I don't have a lot of coffee experience. So maybe this is a dumb question, but can't you just ask the good folks at McDonald's to put a lot of ice in your regular cup of coffee? Did I just blaspheme your precious iced coffee by asking you that?

  5. Yep. The heart wants what it wants, regardless of the temperature.

Anna, I've never even thought of that! I'm gonna give it a try. If it doesn't work I will need those picket signs Emily.

  6. Actually, iced coffee is usually brewed at double strength and then kept in a cool place to chill slowly. Pouring regular coffee over ice will water down the coffee, and also give it a more bitter taste because of the rapid temperature change. Sorry, I worked with coffee for awhile.
